ePTFE CARDIO SUTURES
The Golnit® ePTFE sutures are highly popular in cardiovascular surgeries. The ePTFE material is porous and is about 50% air by volume. It is also extremely light, soft, with no packaging memory and excellent biocompatibility profile. Thanks to its design, the ePTFE suture is exceptionally useful during procedures where the bleeding is a risk factor:
Needle-hole bleeding reduction: The unique suture design, based on Golnit’s proprietary technology, allows to achieve a 1:1 needle/suture diameter ratio. Because the needle diameter is equal or smaller in size than the suture diameter, the fiber fills the hole as it passes through the tissue, resulting in less bleeding to the surgical site.
Premium Sharp needles: Sutures are made with high-grade (AISI 302) stainless steel quality needles that remain sharp pass after pass limiting trauma to tissues.
Superior physical and biological characteristics: ePTFE sutures are completely biocompatible and foster a benign tissue response. The sutures are also easy to handle, are very soft and flexible.
